The Public Revenue Office (PRO) of Macedonia has officially announced plans to implement mandatory e-invoicing.
The rollout will follow the timeline outlined below:
- January 2026: Testing Phase
- October 2026: Mandatory Compliance for All Taxpayers
While details are still forthcoming, this initiative represents a significant shift in the management and reporting of non-cash transactions within the country.
Under the new framework, all invoices related to non-cash transactions will be electronically issued and validated through the central platform managed by the Directorate of Public Revenue (DAP). Each invoice will receive a unique validation code, ensuring both traceability and real-time oversight.
The e-invoicing process is fully automated. Whether generated through a business's own software or via the DAP-provided application, each invoice will be transmitted to DAP for real-time verification, followed by immediate forwarding to the recipient within the same digital ecosystem. This enhanced system eliminates the need for manual delivery methods, such as email or printed copies, thereby streamlining the invoicing process.
