EET 2.0 Registration and Certificate Generation Open on the MOJE daně Portal, a Free Web Application Follows on 1 December and January 2027 Is a Pilot Month

KGT Country Update | 3 November 2026 | VAT, e-invoicing and SAF-T monitor

On 2 November 2026, the Czech Financial Administration announced that EET 2.0 functions are available in the DIS+ data box on the MOJE daně portal. Entrepreneurs can now register for sales recording, report their evidence units, and generate cash register certificates, ahead of the start of recording on 1 January 2027.

The release also states that a free web application for the smallest entrepreneurs, MOJE eet, launches on 1 December 2026, and that January 2027 will be a pilot month in which sales are recorded but compliance is not enforced.

Background

Act No. 180/2026 Coll. reintroduces real-time electronic sales recording (EET 2.0) from 1 January 2027; we covered the Act and the interface requirements on 1 November 2026. That update left two points unconfirmed: when certificate generation opens, and the date of the free application. The 2 November press release answers both, and also answers our open question on the length of the penalty-free period.

The Legislative Change

There is no new legislation. This is an operational launch and an enforcement statement within the existing Act. It binds in practice because a cash register cannot be configured without the certificate, and the evidence unit must be reported before the first recorded sale.

Scope

  • Registration: entrepreneurs and self-employed persons log in to the MOJE daně portal (Online finanční úřad) with Identita občana, data box credentials or tax administration credentials, activate DIS+ if not already active, and click “AKTIVOVAT EET” to open the Evidence tržeb section.
  • Set-up: report evidence units and obtain the cash register certificate (pokladní certifikát) needed to configure the register. Detailed information is being sent to entrepreneurs through data boxes.
  • MOJE eet: a free, responsive web application for the smallest entrepreneurs launches on 1 December 2026.
  • Pilot month: in January 2027 sales are recorded as normal but the administration will not enforce compliance, and staff remain available for consultations.
  • Technical documents (eet.gov.cz): the English interface description is listed as version 1.2a dated 7 October 2026 (the Czech version listed is v1.2 of 25 August 2026, so we cannot confirm it is current); a methodological description of the data message items with filling examples was published on 15 October 2026; endpoint definitions for certificate renewal with CA EET v2 are dated 30 September 2026.

Provisional: the release says entrepreneurs can register “now”; it does not state the first day the functions opened. We have not opened the interface specification v1.2a or the certificate renewal package, so we do not describe their content. The publication date and section numbers of Act 180/2026 remain as flagged in our 1 November update.

Timeline

  • 7 October 2026: English interface description v1.2a; consolidated Act text as of this date.
  • 15 October 2026: data message item description with examples.
  • 2 November 2026: registration, evidence units and certificate generation available.
  • 1 December 2026: MOJE eet free web application.
  • 1 January 2027: EET 2.0 recording starts; January is a pilot month without enforcement.

Businesses Affected

Czech entities that accept payments covered by the Act, including retail, hospitality and services subsidiaries of multinationals, franchisees and their POS vendors. The Authority recommends confirming with the cash register supplier that its system is ready for EET 2.0.

Required Actions

  • Activate DIS+ for each Czech taxpayer and decide who holds the access.
  • Report evidence units and generate certificates early, and diarize renewal for each certificate.
  • Ask each POS vendor for its EET 2.0 readiness status and interface version, and test in the playground environment.
  • Map receipt data to the data message items using the 15 October description.
  • Treat January 2027 as a rehearsal: no enforcement, but record every sale correctly.

Practical Implications

The practical constraint is certificate issuance and register configuration across many outlets, not the legal text. Entities with many registers should start in November. The pilot month is a support period, not a postponement: the obligation applies from 1 January 2027.

Expected Next Steps

The Financial Administration will continue to send guidance through data boxes and publish documents on eet.gov.cz. Watch for a stable interface specification version and for the launch of MOJE eet on 1 December.
